Saddle up For a Great Road Adventure: 5 Must-Have Motorcycle Accessories

If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, like myself, you have to understand the importance of having the necessary motorcycle accessories for a safe and quality ride. Apart from your bike, there are a few more things that you need to consider getting before you set out to your next journey. You probably already own some of them, like the helmet, for the obvious safety reasons. However there are some that you might not own, or never even considered worth the purchase, but hopefully, you will change your view on their importance.

Here is a list of a motorcycle accessories that will protect you from injuries, extreme weather conditions, and will be beneficial in many ways like enabling you to carry extra luggage on your next trip.

Motorcycle Rider

Helmet

The most important piece of motorcycle equipment. It’s a must-have for safety purposes, and some states have a law that requires you to wear one while riding your bike. Most head injuries occur around the face, so I would strongly advise you to get a full-face helmet instead of a ¾ type or open face helmet. A quality helmet will usually have a life span of around 5 years. After those 5 years have gone by, it’s a good idea to replace it, for safety reasons. Besides protection from impact, the helmet will protect you from bugs, and some helmets have installed bluetooth within them, which will allow you to answer phone calls, get directions, and listen to music while enjoying your ride.

Jacket

Besides making you look really cool, a motorcycle jacket will keep you warm in the winter and protect your skin from the elements. A motorcycle jacket can be made from a few different materials, but you don’t have to worry about picking the ideal one, because you’ll end up owning multiple jackets anyway.

Gloves

One of the most important accessories for bike riding. Motorcycle gloves will prevent your hands from sweating all over the handles, which in return will give you more control over the bike. Most importantly, a pair of gloves will protect your hands and fingers when you fall, and we all know that it’s a natural reflex to extend your hands while falling to protect other parts of the body.

Boots

The biggest difference between regular shoes and motorcycle boots is that the motorcycle boots are sturdy and have over the ankle protection. Your feet have a lot of small and fragile bones that you want to protect, and proper motorcycle boots won’t fly off during an impact, thus exposing all of your bones and skin.

Luggage Bag

Unlike regular bags, specialized motorcycle luggage bags are water resistant and have a unique safety mechanism. Being able to carry on clothes and what not during long trips makes this particular accessory very convenient.
